OVERVIEW
Datago Technology is a start up that focuses mainly on providing Chinese text data analytics in finance. By leveraging big data and AI technologies to process large-scale text data from comprehensive sources like news, reports and social media, they provide quantitative and easy-to-use structured data analytics for the capital market in mainland China and Hong Kong. With their information-rich knowledge graph and real-time data analytics services, clients are able to quickly and easily extract value and insights from large amounts of information. Their product helps clients to enhance returns, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency.

Style Guide
Its official website is quite outdated and lacks consistency across the Mandarin and English editions, whether due to legibility/formatting issues or the design, which gives a monotonous and passionless impression. As a result, I proposed a redesign.

The Redesign
Since finding out I was their first hired designer, hence the quality of their current website design.
Stay within the colors of their logo and use a clearer highlight color to meet the contrast checker's condition
Made custom icons and illustrations to supplement some of the jargon-heavy words and titles to help the users understand them better
Constructed a clear division of sections with grids for both languages and shortened some unnecessary length, especially on the Contact page
Changed the typography to what we have been using in other projects for consistency
In the end, I opted for a gradient look with more illustration and the simplicity of the UI. I then created for the team a clickable prototype in Figma.

Results and Takeaways
With the new redesign of the site, I believe I am able to shine a new look for the company. Since joining the company, I always wanted to touch on their official site. I thought now is the right time to do it. As of writing this, this is my last project for them and I wanted to give them this design to show them my appreciation for taking me in and as a parting gift. Definitely, there is still much more to explore and improve on the site like having a case study detailed page on their different clients and some snippets of works to help users understand what the company really does.
