Fixing the Brand & User Experience

When I looked at Datago's existing marketing site, it suffered from a few major issues: the text was hard to read, the layout felt monotonous, and it didn't reflect the cutting-edge tech they were actually building. It also lacked consistency when flipping between the English and Mandarin versions. I proposed and led a complete redesign to make the site look modern, approachable, and trustworthy for our B2B clients.

  • Designing for Two Languages:
I built a clear grid system that allowed the layout to scale perfectly, whether the user was reading in English or Mandarin.
  • Making Jargon Easy to Understand:
Because our product relied heavily on FinTech jargon, I designed custom icons and illustrations to explain complex AI and NLP services visually to decision-makers.
  • Cleaning Up the Flow:
I audited the existing pages and ruthlessly cut out unnecessary text—especially on the Contact page—making it much easier for potential clients to actually get in touch with us.

Building a Reusable System

To make sure the site was easy for developers to build and for the marketing team to maintain, I handed over a fully clickable Figma prototype backed by a clean style guide.

  • Accessible Colors:
I stuck to the core logo colors but tweaked the highlight shades to make sure everything easily passed modern accessibility contrast checkers.
  • Component Library:
I standardized our typography and built reusable pieces (like nav bars, cards, and buttons) so the team could quickly spin up new pages in the future without breaking the design.

Reflections & What's Next

This was my final project before moving on from Datago, and I really wanted to leave them with a strong digital foundation to grow on.

While the new site gave the company a much-needed facelift, I didn't want to just hand over a Figma file and walk away. I left the leadership team with a roadmap for what to build next: detailed client case studies and interactive data snippets. Giving potential clients a way to actually see the data analytics in action is the best way to prove the product's value, and I wanted to make sure they knew exactly how to take the site to the next level.
